India's mineral production grows by 4.6
India's metallic and non-metallic minerals production index in September 2022 saw growth of 4.6 compared to the same period last year.

According to the Hellenic Shipping News website, India's mineral production index was registered at 99.5 in September of this year,  4.6 percent increase from the same period last year, quoted by Imidro.

During this period, some important minerals had production growth, including coal with 12.1 percent growth, iron ore at 9.1 percent growth and copper concentrate with 18.5 percent growth.

Meanwhile, phosphorite, bauxite and limestone production increased by 87.6%, 5.5% and 4.7% in September 2022 compared to the same period last year, respectively.

The Statistics Center stated: The total mineral production in the country from the beginning of April to the end of September 2022 has seen growth of 4.2% compared to the same period last year.

Production of metallic minerals

India's bauxite production was announced at 1.667,000 tons in September 2022. Also, during this period, the country's production of chromite and copper concentrate has been registered at 116,000 tons and 10,000 tons, respectively.

This comes after 92 kilograms of gold, 16 million and 600,000 tons of iron ore, 22,000 tons of copper concentrate, 163,000 tons of manganese ore as well as 45,000 tons of zinc concentrate were produced in India during September 2022.

Non-metallic minerals

The production of non-metallic minerals such as limestone 30 million and 500,000 tons, phosphorite 150,000 tons and 70 carat diamonds has been registered during September of this year.

The country's coal production was also reported at 58 million tonnes during September this year.
